Rebecca “ Kittie” Cavanna, 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation is Saturday, June 8, 2012 from 5 – 8 pm and Sunday, June 9, 2012 at 1 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2 pm Sunday, June 9, 2012 from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Rebecca Dixon was born on June 2, 1924 in Neely Mississippi to the late Riley and Emma McKenzie Dixon. She had been a resident of Florence for 22 years. She was the widow of John William Cavanna . She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Diane Cavanna Whatley; and a great granddaughter, Kylie Noel Routh.
Survivors include her three children, Judy Cavanna Gray and her husband, Myres of Lexington, MS, John Terry Cavanna of Florence, MS, and Larry Ralph Cavanna and wife, Kathleen of Crowley, Texas; her son-in-law, Joe Whatley of Pearl, MS; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
