Rebecca Ann “Becky” Mays, age 80, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services are on April 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.

Becky was born on August 1, 1944, in McComb, Mississippi, to the late Harold Little and Grace Hughes Little Mize. She spent many years working in advertising before she formed her own agency, Mays Marketing. She had a sharp eye for design. Her beautifully decorated home was a reflection of her creativity and unique style.

A loyal Mississippi State fan along with her late husband Ed, Becky loved cheering on the Bulldogs, especially during football season. She was also a devoted animal lover and shared a special bond with her beloved English bulldog, Diva.

Becky is preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar “Ed” Mays Jr. and a brother, Robert Harold Little Sr. She is survived by her son, Kenny Dawson; her daughter, Angel Byrd (Glen); William Edgar Mays III (Carla); Amanda Katherine Jessop (Steve). She also leaves behind her grandchildren John Taylor Byrd (Jennifer); Allen Tyler Byrd (Sarah Grace); Kristi Thompson (Brandon); Bradley Kyle Scarborough; Matthew Sean Mays; Sarah Marie Mays, and 6 great-grandchildren, Mary Leigh Byrd; John Dawson Byrd; Mia Grace Byrd; Boone Allen Byrd; Lily Ott, and Anna Michelle, who brought her great joy.

Becky was strong-willed, outspoken, and entirely herself—qualities that shaped her family and left an impression on all who knew her. She will be remembered with both fondness and respect.
