Mrs. Regenia Lee Chambers, age 73 and a resident of Forest, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
The homemaker was a longtime resident of Scott County who will be remembered for her admiration of the beaches, from the beauty of the white sands, to the sounds of the crashing waves of the ocean, to the peaceful sereneness of walking along the seashore. Fitting of the description of this life, she is a testimony of Alfred Lloyd Tenison’s, Crossing the Bar. Found on a creekbank or on the lake somewhere she could meet the challenge of the best fisherman anywhere, often competing for the prize catch, with Roger, her husband of over 56 years. Raising vegetable gardens and working for the beauty of her yard, many hours of contentment were found tending to these outside scenes of their homeplace. She was a Christian by faith, affiliated with the Baptist denomination. She will be remembered for the love and compassion she had for her husband, daughter and son, but specifically, her feline, Miss Tiny Mae Chambers.
Her parents precede her in death and she is survived by her husband: Roger Dale Chambers, of the home; one daughter: Robbin (Kevin Lee) Ryel of Mustang, OK; one son: Roger Kevin Chambers of Forest; one brother: Larry Sanders.
Also preceding Mrs. Chambers in death is her daughter-in-law: Mrs. Kimberly Lea Stewart Chambers (2010).
Because of the special bonding Mrs. Chambers had with Miss Tiny Mae, the family thought it appropriate to ask memorial donations be made to the local animal shelter.
