Reverend Lawrence Albert “Larry” Creel

Reverend Lawrence Albert “Larry” Creel died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the age of 67, following a long illness. Larry was born October 3, 1947 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was educated at the University of Southern Mississippi and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He then dedicated his life to serving as a United Methodist Minister across Mississippi for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband to Nancy Lyle Creel since 1971, and a wonderful father to Amy Creel of New Orleans, LA and Adam Creel of Morton, MS.
In addition to countless dear friends, Larry is survived by a large and loving extended family including Maxine Creel, Becky (Jim) Stevenson, Anita (Steve) Lewis, Joyce Lyle, Tommy (Liz) Lyle, Bob (Dana) Lyle.
Beloved nieces and nephews include Grant (Nikki) Stevenson, Thea Stevenson, Connor Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Karen Lyle, Marion (Cooper) Morrison, Allen Lyle, Courtney (Randall) Sanders, Erin (Tim) Alford. And cherished great nephews Lyle Sanders and Liam Alford. He is preceded in death by Albert Creel, Roberta Pearce Creel and Cheryl Barlow.
Visitation with the family will be held in the Crossgates United Methodist Church sanctuary on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6 – 8 pm. A service will be held in Celebration of his life also at Crossgates United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11 am.
