Rev. Raymond “Joe” McGee, a resident of Morton died Monday May 19, 2014 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held 10:00am-9:00 pm Thursday, May 22, 2014 and 08:00am until 02:00pm Friday, May 23, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held at 02:00 pm, Friday, May 14, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, with burial in the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS. Rev. Randy Rigney and Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiated the services. Services were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Rev. McGee was a native of Flora, MS in Madison County. He was the son of James W. and Lottie Mae Huff McGee. He was a member of the Morton Church of God in Morton. Rev. McGee has lived in Morton for many years. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over twenty-eight years. Rev. McGee loved to the Bible and knew the Bible front to back. He loved talking to everyone about the Lord. He loved to travel and fishing and hunting. He even had a pillow which stated “When fish hear my name, they tremble.” He loved his family and friends and spending time with them always brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Rev. McGee was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Lottie Mae Huff McGee; sisters, Lola Womack and Margie Shoemaker; brothers Johnny McGee, Otis McGee, Jerry Lee Odom.

Rev. McGee was survived by his wife, Helen McCrory McGee; sisters, Josephine Joy (Charles) of Brandon, Susan Hardy (Jimmy) of McComb; brother, James H. McGee (Ivery) of Hubbard, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as Pallbearers were James McGee Jr., John Coleman, Scott McGee, Mike Bailey, Steve Hardy, Tony McCrory, Tommy McCrory, and E. J. McCrory. Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Dean, Lester Yount, Shannon Yount, Jimmy Hardy, Houston Westerfield.



Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton are in charge of the services.
