He was a loving husband and father. He loved sports, hunting, gardening and the great outdoors and most of all he loved to tell others about Jesus Christ. We have heard the old saying “If you find something you love to do you will never work another day of your life”. He found that in spreading the Gospel for Christ. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1961 and he was better known as “Preacher” not knowing that some 16 years later that is what he would become. In 1963 he married his sweetheart Carolyn Graham McGee and had 3 children. In 1976 he surrendered into the Ministry as a Bi-vocational Pastor. As a ministry team, he and his wife touched many people through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, taking youth and adults on many trips that changed their lives. He began his Ministry at New Home Baptist Church and held that position for 22 years. He then moved to Good Hope Baptist Church, Pearl Hill Baptist Church and preached his last sermon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Though he had many illnesses during his life here on earth he never stopped witnessing for Christ. Through sports he also touched numerous people. He played softball for many years and coached youth league baseball for many years in Morton, MS and coached women summer league softball. During these times he not only coached but took time to teach the players about life.
