Rev. William Grant Jr.

September 19, 1947 — April 26, 2018

William Henry Grant, Jr., 70, went to be with the Lord on the 26th of April 2018 at his home in Madison after an extended illness.  His funeral service will held at 10:30am on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS followed by internment at Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2pm-5pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Grant was born on September 19th 1947 in Smith County, MS to William Henry Grant, Senior “Bill” and Minnie Mirl Huff Grant.  He was a plumber by trade, and owned Pearl Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. He was also a dedicated minister of the Gospel. He was ordained to preach in 1970, and ministered faithfully through evangelism and pastoring for over 40 years.

Mr. Grant married Paula Jean Lundy in December of 1966.  They raised three children, Tammy, Bill, and Chris. They were faithful members of Faith Chapel in Pearl, MS.  After years of battling cancer, Paula Jean Lundy Grant passed away in July of 1997.

In April of 2001, Mr. Grant married Jackie Burney Thomas. Their best moments were spent traveling together. They were married for 17 years.

Mr. Grant will be remembered as an avid lover of antique cars, especially corvettes. In his 30’s and 40’s he was an eager “hunter.” He loved music, and he was a proficient guitarist. He will be remembered as a compassionate Granddad to each of his 7 grandchildren.

Mr. Grant is survived by his wife, Jackie Burney Grant, his children, Tammy Elizabeth Grant, William Henry Grant, III “Bill” (Donna), Christopher Joseph Grant (Stephanie), Robert Thomas, and Ryan Thomas.  He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Brittany Bailey Coleman (William), Hannah Lauren Bailey, Nicholas Anderson Bailey, Zachary Ty Grant, Haily Sierra Grant, Mallory Mills LaFountaine (Josh), Madison Mills “Maggie” and 2 great-grandchildren Madelynn Swayze-Jane Coleman, and William Morris Coleman, V “Liam” , as well as his brothers, Robert Gerald Grant “Jerry” (Pat), Larry Gene Grant (Twylla), his sister, Peggy Grant Wade and Uncle Gene Huff and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.
