Richard Arlen Jones

Richard Arlen Jones, 75, resident of Crystal Springs, passed away on May 12, 2024 surrounded by family. Services will be held on Saturday, May 18 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS. Visitation to begin at 2 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3PM.

Richard was born in Crystal Springs on July 18, 1948. Richard graduated from Crystal Springs High (1966) and obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University (1969), Go Dawgs, and his Masters in Banking from Louisiana State University.   He worked in retail finance for most of his career and retired from Wilson Dodge after 25 years of service. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Richard is preceded in death by two children, Joshua Randall Jones and Richard “Richie” Arlen Jones, Jr.; parents, Hansel Ware and Lavada Walker Jones of Crystal Springs; Brothers, Hiram Jones and Hansel Jones; Sisters, Elizabeth Jones and Barbara Sue Jones. 

Richard is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Jones Brown, husband, Donnie; grandchildren, Noah Dale Jones, Gracie Elizabeth Brown, Joshua Brennan Jones, Hannah Rose Brown and Emma Dean Brown; several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
