Richard Martin Russell, 56, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 11am -1:45pm Thursday, October 19, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with services to follow at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be 11am Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Fountain City United Methodist Church Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
Mr. Russell was born in Cincinnati, OH to Howard Russell and Anna Mary Gearhart Russell on February 1, 1961. Russell was an Emmy Award winning journalist. He left his mark during his 25 year broadcasting career, most recently at WJTV. Mr. Russell was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Word of Life Church in Flowood, MS.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Condon Russell; daughters, Kimberly Lynn Russell and Emily Elizabeth Russell; brother, Dennis (Mary) Russell; father-in-law, R.C. (Evelyn) Condon; sister-in-law, Carol (Bill) Sewell; brother-in-law, Ray (Sandy) Condon; nephews, Ben and Josh Condon and a niece, Rachel Lynn Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Russell; niece, Erin Sewell and mother-in-law, Jeanette Condon.
