Richard Earl Skidstad, 76, a resident of Brandon died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Dominic in Jackson, MS. A prayer service will be held 3 pm Satuday, January 10, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
Mr. Skifstad was a native of Wisconsin. He was the son Robert Skifstad, Sr. and Carrie Skifstad. He was married to Edna D. Phinisee-Skifstad. He loved the Lord and accepted Christ as his Savior. He was proud of his service and retirement in the United States Navy. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Skifstad was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Skifstad, Sr. and Carrie Skifstad;step son, Nick Phinisee; brother, Robert “Bob” Skifstad, Jr.
Mr. Skifstad is survived by his wife, Edna D. Phinisee-Skifstad;step sons, Mark Phinisee and Gerald Waites; brother, Roger Skifstad; 3 step grandchildren, Santino “Sonny” Phinisee, Nick Phinisee, Jr. and NeAngelo Phinisee; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
