Richard Talley

Richard Maurice Talley, age 88, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Talley was born in Macon, TN on December 15, 1931 to Gertrude Lee Hall Talley and William Winchester Talley. He graduated from Cayce High School in Cayce, Kentucky and attended Union University. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and most of that time was served in Alaska. Mr. Talley worked for Western Union in Tennessee and in Jackson, MS and later worked for the United States Postal Service. He was Married to Leila Sarah Leggett Talley and Della Wilson Talley. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Talley was preceded in death by his wives, Sarah Leggett Talley and Della Wilson Talley; parents, Gertrude Lee Hall Talley and William Winchester Talley and his stepdaughter, Rachel Greer; brothers, Sam Talley and James Talley; sisters, Iola Kennon, Florence Taylor, Dora Talley and Lillian Mardis.

Mr. Talley is survived by his children, Richard Talley, Randy (Cindy) Talley, Ronald (Karleene) Talley, stepdaughter, Linda Robey; stepdaughter, Cindy (Mark) Stevens, Becky (Kenny) Foreman, Sandra (Steve) Beverlin and Lynn (Wanda) Wilson; two grandchildren, Jackson and Joseph and a host of other beloved grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Deloris Ann Talley Greer; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
