Rita F. Babb, 57, passed away Wed. May 8, 2013 at the Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held Thurs. May 9, 2013 from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm. Fri. May 10, 2013 at the funeral home with a 4pm. graveside service to follow in the Goodwater Baptist Cemetery in Smith County, MS.
Mrs. Babb was born in Raleigh, MS and lived most of her life in Rankin County, MS. Her heart belonged to her grandchildren and she loved to spend time with them.
She is survived by her mother, Lora Mae Gilbert of Forest; two children, Brandy Crider (Thomas) of Pearl and Jerry Cook (Tammy) of Pearl; three sisters, Bobbye Johnson of Arizona, Patsy Waller of Forest and Wanda Clark of Mendenhall; one brother, David Gilbert of Brandon and four grandchildren, Chris Cook, Jacob Cook, Kelli Cook and Landen Crider. Mrs. Babb is preceded in death by her father, Junior Gilbert and her two brothers, Kenny Gilbert and Jackie Gilbert.
