Robert C. Burnham, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at his home in Braxton, MS. Visitation is today, Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 1 – 3 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 3 pm today in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Johns Cemetery, Johns, MS.
Robert Carroll Burnham was born on April 5, 1924 in Puckett, MS to the late Robert Lowery and Katie Delanie Kennedy Burnham. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. After the War, he began his long career in farming, including cattle, chickens, cotton, corn, and soybeans. He retired in 1977 after more than 50 years in the farming industry. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ina Gene Kline Burnham; three sisters; and five brothers.
He is survived by his children, Robert “Butch” Burnham of Mendenhall, MS; Dawn Taylor of Braxton, MS; and Steve Burnham and his wife, Judy of Braxton, MS; one brother, Sidney Burnham of Brandon, MS; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and his special friend, Doris Taylor of Braxton, MS.
