Robert Gerald Carr, 77, joined his Heavenly Father on September 7, 2017. Visitation will be 5pm – 8pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will be 2pm Sunday at Grandview Baptist Church in Pearl, MS, with visitation starting at 1:30pm. Interment will follow in Carr Cemetery in Pineville, MS.
Mr. Carr was born on March 29, 1940, in Pineville, MS to John Allen Carr and Billie Marie Dennis Carr. He was a very active member of the Gideon’s International and Grandview Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and Outreach leader. He enjoyed flower gardening, but he especially loved his family, wife, boys and grandchildren. Gerald had a passion for doing church work and went on multiple mission trips. He retired after 34 years of service with the MDOT as a Construction Area Engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Yates Carr; sons, Michael (Stacy) Carr, Johnny (Amy) Carr and Tony (Brandi) Carr; sisters, Billie Goodson, Barbara Hathorn and Francis (Jerry) Baldwin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Baylee (Anthony) Mauro, McKenzie (Lynlee) Carr, Mary Kellan Carr, Collin Carr, Kristen Carr, Kara Beth Carr, Cody Carr and Brady Carr; and great grandchildren, Sawyer and Griffin Mauro.
The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Mickey Hampton and Bill Ulrey.
