Robert Hodges

Robert E. “Bob” Hodges, age 68, a resident of Forest died Wednesday August 1, 2012 at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson following a brief illness.
Services were conducted at 10am from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral home in Forest with interment in the Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Cliff Nelson officiated.
Mr. Hodges had retired as Public Relations Director for Hinds Community College in Raymond.
He was known by all to be a whitty, charming individual who never met a stranger. Bob loved to travel. One of his favorite places to visit were the Hawaiian Islands. His visit to Hawaii were numerous. He had vacation spots all over the U.S. He was a member of the Circle K Club at Hinds Community College. Through his travels, he made contact with Bob Hope, and former presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter. He always found some the best restaurants and places where many famous people seemed to convene. He loved people and making friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie E. Hodges and Margaret Brown Hodges.
Survivors include one sister, Martha H. Hall and one brother, Bill Hodges both of Forest, three nephews and two nieces.
Pallbearers were Charles Garrettson, Seth Hodges, Chad Hall, Ron Garrettson, Tyler Hodges, Devonta Shaw, Chase Hall and Cory Garrettson.
