Mr. Robert Earl Long age 74 passed away at his residence on June 28, 2017 in Morton, MS.  Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Morton, MS with Rev. Marty Wilson officiating the services.  Visitation services were held on Friday June 30, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and again from 8:30 am until 9:45 am Saturday July 1, 2017.  Interment was held at Two Mile Baptist Church Cemetery following the services.

Robert was born to his parents Norman Woodrow and Jeannie Henry Long on May 21, 1943 in Scott County.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and he enjoyed computers, working outside, gardening, guns, knives and lighters.  He loved hunting, fishing, camping, music and he played with a country band.  He raced Enduro motorcycles and was a friend to all he met and would help anyone he could.  He loved his family and his dogs and he will be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Jeannie Long; his grandson, Jamie Long; his daughter, Darla Jean Peterson.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lola Long; his sons, Norman Grady (Mary Jane) Long of Brandon; Robert Anthony (Amanda) Long of Puckett, Phillip Peterson of Morton, Eddie (Gale) Peterson of Lena MS, Tommy Peterson of Arkansas, Dewayne Peterson of Pearl; his daughter, Debbie Peterson of Pearl; his sister, Faye Sullivan of Morton; his brother, Prentice Long; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his special friend, Jerry Lee Vinvant; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friend.

Pallbearers were Eddie Peterson, Wesley Madix, Bobby Doolie, Woody Long, Moses Vasquez, and Phillip Peterson.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
