Robert B. “Bob” Stegall, Sr., 87, died October 18, 2013, at VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3pm Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at 3pm.
Mr. Stegall was born on Sept. 21, 1926, in McComb, MS. to William Archie and Emma Gladys Farrar Stegall. He was a WWII Veteran and was honorably discharged after serving in the US Army from Dec. 1944 until Nov. 1946. After his tour of duty, he was self-employed as a Master Mechanic for 50 years establishing the business of Stegall’s Garage in Kentwood, LA. Mr. Stegall was a member of First Baptist of Kentwood, LA.
Mr. Stegall was preceded in death by a son, Robert B. “Bobby” Stegall, Jr. and grandson, Michael Hendry along with his parents, one sister and one brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Gary) Hendry, Plaquemine, LA; 2 sisters, Patsy Jackson, Brookhaven, MS, Bonnie (Vaughn) Galloway, Brandon, MS; 2 brothers, Freddie (Jane) Stegall, Wesson, MS and Jessie (Linda) Stegall, Wesson, MS. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mississippi State Veterans Home where he was a resident for the past 3 years for their dedicated care and devotion.
