Robert "Bob" Summerlin, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Earl Summerlin, Sr., age 81 of Florence, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 1, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with visitation starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Brandon Memorial Gardens.

Bob was born in Jackson, MS on December 25, 1939, to the late James Houston Summerlin and Hattie Esther Lee.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for the Jackson Fire Department for 33 years retiring as a Captain. Bob then became a Locksmith and worked for Mississippi College and Belhaven College. He loved to do woodwork, but most of all he loved spoiling his grandbabies.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Molly Ross.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Summerlin; children, Laurie (Pete) Harkins, Robert (Amy) Summerlin, Jr., Rebecca (Jody) Gousset; grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin) Binegar, Alison (Michael) Howell, Robert Sumerlin, III, Claire Summerlin, Shelby Gousset, and Jenna Gousset; great-grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Harper, Harris, and Thomas Michael; brother, James (Phyllis) Summerlin; other relatives and friends.
