Robert M. Moore
Madison, MS
Robert Maurice Moore of Madison lost his two and a half year battle with a brain tumor on September 11, 2016 at the age of 76. Born February 24, 1940 in Enterprise, MS, Bobby/Bob - as most of his family and friends called him – was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who was young at heart and loved life. He enjoyed dove and duck hunting, gardening, watching westerns, NFL football and the History Channel, working on machinery, riding four wheelers, taking road trips, Chick-fil-a, listening to Elvis and country music and spending time with his family. He was a brilliant man who could repair anything, served in the United States Air Force, and was employed by Eaton Corporation (formerly Vickers) for over 37 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. A highly respected and moral man, Mr. Moore had a kind spirit and uncanny wit. The world lost a wonderful man and his family will miss him dearly.
A special thanks to Dr. Ruth Fredericks and her nurse Missy Johnson, the staff at St. Dominic Hospital, Veterans Service Officer Piccolar Johnson and staff at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS, and Quality Hospice who took such loving care as he fought his battle with cancer. The family is forever grateful to you all.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Moore; father, Larkin Moore; step mother, Lucille Moore; brothers, Vegie Moore, Ulmer Moore and Jimmy Moore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Teresha McCollum Moore, daughters Lisa Maxey (Stacy) of Brandon, MS and Natalie Moore of Nashville, TN, sister Jean Bullock, brothers Webb Moore (Peggy), Delton Moore (Bobbie Nell), Donnie Moore (Linda), step sisters Leola Jones (Glenn), and Theola Grayson, step brother Jimmy Crain (Myrna) as well as a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws that he loved very much. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral home in Brandon, MS and services 2pm Thursday, September 15, 2016 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be 12 Noon Friday in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. He fought hard until the end, and we look forward to seeing him again in heaven where he is pain free completely healed and restored. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
