Funeral services for Mr. Robert E. “Bobby” Hollingsworth will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, December 4, 2015 from the Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5 pm until 9 pm at the funeral home.
Robert Earl Hollingsworth was born in Newton County August 21, 1944 and passed away at his home in the Gibbstown community on November 27, 2015 at the age of 71.
He was a lifelong resident of Newton County and retired from La-Z-Boy South with 46 years of service in supervision and management. Mr. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, and planting things in his yard. He enjoyed doing carpentry work, as he built things with his hands, in particular, swings. Other favorite past times were spent working on lawn mowers, watching Westerns, and sitting under the shade tree with his dog. He was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren very much. Mr. Bobby was a member of Salem Baptist Church, where he loved his church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marshall O. & Frances Dotson Hollingsworth.
Survivors include his wife: Ann Hollingsworth of Lawrence; four children: Melissa (Bryan) Grantham of Leavenworth, Kansas; Eric (Jessica) Hollingsworth, Melissa Horn, and Scotty White, all of Lawrence; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters: Dorothy (Charles) Federick of Lawrence and Sandra (Cobert) Phillips of Lake; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Bryan Grantham, Ben Breland, Ronnie Anderson, William Anderson, Scotty White, and David Federick.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Charles Federick, Cobert Phillips, James Odell Leach, Ronnie Federick, Jeff Federick, Stanley Stewart, Stacy Wilkinson, Tyler Stewart, Brady Stewart, Josh Parsons, and Chris Boutwell.
