Robert F. (Bobby) Thomas, 76, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 9:00 am until 10:45 am Thursday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home.
Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Forest where he taught Sunday School for many years. He owned and operated the Forest Department Store for many years and later retired from the State of Mississippi Disability Services in Madison, MS. Bobby was a graduate of Notre Dame and the University of Mississippi.
Survivors include his daughter, Mamie Thomas McLaughlin and husband Patrick of Helena, AL; granddaughter, Madison McLaughlin; sister, Marie Thomas Beard; brothers, Ronald Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Jr. and Dennis Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris A. Thomas and his parents, Mitchell R. Thomas, Sr. and Marie Saway Thomas.
