Robert Grady Shows, 74, born on October 15, 1938, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 5-8 pm Tuesday and 12 noon Wednesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Robert was born and raised in the Martinville Community in Simpson County and moved to Brandon in 1970. He worked for the Conerly Construction until he retired in 1990. He then worked for Luvell Dairy until 1992, then Sunbelt Bolt and Screw for the past twenty years. Robert loved to work and a had a
a very hard work ethic. He was diagnosed with stage four Lung Cancer last year, but he never let it stop him. He worked every day until his passing, doing what he loved to do best.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jo Ann Shows; son, Brent Shows (Brandi); daughter, Kim Bowman (James); sisters, Otrice Edwards and Gertrude Wells; brothers, V. V. Shows and Ray Shows; grandchildren, Cody Baker, Dylan Shows, Morgan-Mackenzie Baker, Payton Baker and Bristol Bowman.
The family would like to express a special “thank you” to Jackson Oncology, Dr. Wilkerson and staff and Sunbelt Bolt and Screw.
