Roger Glenn Garrett, beloved husband, brother, father, and friend, passed away on July 5, 2023, in Brandon, MS. He was born on March 25, 1953, in Hammond, LA to the late William Neal Garrett and Mary Virginia Gobert Garrett. Roger's warm presence and kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roger's educational journey led him to Delta State University, where he graduated with his Bachelor's degree. This was just the beginning of a life filled with accomplishment and meaningful connections. Roger touched the lives of many through his genuine compassion and unwavering dedication.
Throughout his life, Roger exemplified what it means to be a loving husband. He shared an unbreakable bond with his wife Ellen F. Garrett and together they created a home filled with love and laughter. Roger's stepchildren, Dennis J. (Lisa) Brennan Jr. and Maureen (Bill) Power, were fortunate to have him as a guiding figure in their lives. His impact extended to his grandchildren Ashley, Connor, Emily, Brennan, Spencer, and Ella; as well as his great-grandchildren Eli and Maggie.
Family was of utmost importance to Roger. His sister Linda Lowry and her husband Jack held a special place in his heart. Additionally, Roger was preceded in death by his brother Allen Hearn.
To honor Roger's life and legacy, a graveside service will be held at Lakeland Place Memorial Park, 6004 MS-25, Brandon, MS, 39047, starting at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
Roger Glenn Garrett leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire generations to come. His contributions to the lives he touched will always be remembered and cherished by family and friends alike.
In this time of mourning, let us reflect on the joyful moments we shared with Roger. May we find solace in the memories he created and find comfort in each other's support. As we say goodbye to our dear friend, let us celebrate his life and carry forward his spirit of compassion and optimism.
