Roland Thomas

Roland “Snow” Thomas, age 86, of Brandon, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, July 18, 2018 1:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon. A graveside service will follow at 4:30pm at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grenada, MS. Visitation will be Monday, July 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 12:00pm-12:45pm.

He was born in Grenada, MS on October 8, 1931 to the late William Clarence Thomas and Ruby Carpenter Thomas.

Snow was a longtime resident of Clarksdale and a resident of Brandon for the past 13 years. He was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Airforce, and worked as a Civil Engineer Technician in Soil Conservation.

He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Stanford and sister Betty Sue Cox.

Snow is survived by his wife, Eloise Thomas of Brandon; children, Linda Kittle (Owen) of Cleveland, Gail Edwards (Joe) of Flowood, and Jennifer Parham (Scott) of Brandon, MS; brother, William “Buddy” Thomas (Brenda) of Southaven; grandchildren, Owen Kittle II, Sarah Watson, Virginia Stanford, Tripp Edwards, and Miranda Edwards; great-grandchildren, Reese Watson, Avery Watson, James Stanford, and Blake Stanford; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Crossgates Baptist Church or Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland.
