Funeral services for Mr. Roland Wilbur Myrick will be conducted, Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Forest Baptist Church with interment in the Eastern Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Forest Baptist Church.
Roland Wilbur Myrick was born October 3, 1920 to his parents, the late Wyatt and Lillie Myrick of Jasper County, and passed away August 22, 2015 at the Lackey Convalescent Home in Forest at the age of 94.
An early electronics specialist, he was attached to the US Army Air Corps during World War II as a radar and electronics specialist and supervisor. He returned to Forest after the war to resume his business, later known as Myrick Radio and TV. He was a member of the Forest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 9 years: Nannie Ruth Slay Myrick and their daughter: Diane Myrick Dedeaux; daughter: Marilyn Myrick; his second wife of 48 years: Fannie Mae Warren Myrick; his parents; and three sisters: Ardue, Edith, and Gladys.
He is survived by one granddaughter: Lynn; and one niece: Mary Ann; several great nieces and great nephews.
