Mr. Ron Geter, age 79, a resident of Cooperville passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Sunday, December 06, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 12-1pm Monday at the funeral home. Services will be held 1pm Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Cooperville Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Doug Payne will officate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Geter was born in Hickory, MS on August 31, 1936. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron also loved working in his garden. He loved to reminisce and tell stories about his past. Ron enjoyed talking to others and visiting with everyone. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Libbye Jean Franklin Geter; son, Tommy Wayne Geter; parents, Earnest A. Geter and Polly Ann Williams Geter; brothers, James, Earl and Clarence A. Geter; sisters, Bonnie Faye Baldwin, Lucille Busby and Francis Suchy.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Lee and wife Patricia of Pelahatchie; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Geter, Ashley Geter, Lauren Lee (Zach) and Blaine Lee (Leslie); 6 great grandchildren, Maci, Jayden, Jaxon, Timmy, Nathan and Joshua; favorite nephew, Ronnie Baldwin; a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Denny Marlett, Kevin Gainey, Blaine Lee, Shawn Lee, Larry Sistrunk and Zachary Sanford.
Service: 1pm Monday, December 7, 2015 at Ott & Lee Chapel Morton.
