Ronald Fortune

Ronald Richard Fortune, age 72 of Brandon, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at St. Dominic’s Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 10:00am at Andrew Chapel Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2020 with Rev. Keith McGee officiating.

He was born in Hinds County, MS on August 16, 1947 to the late Morris C. Fortune and Elizabeth Olivia Smith Fortune and has been a resident of Rankin County all of his life.

Ronald was a member of Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, a former deacon, and current Treasurer of the Andrew Chapel Cemetery. He retired from Jackson Ready Mix as Plant Manger and then went to work as a greeter part-time at Home Depot where he made many new friends.

He is survived by his wife, Faynette Myers Fortune; son, Ronald Scott Fortune; daughter Beth Mabry (Greg); grandchildren, Hannah Simpson (Jacob) and Owen Mabry; great-granddaughter, Ella Gray Simpson; brother, Tim Smith (Teresa); other relatives and many friends.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to Andrew Chapel Baptist Church.
