Ronnie Lee Harrell, a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 73 in Jackson, MS. He was born on December 30, 1949, in Rankin County to Arnold Lee Harrell and Martha Jewel Renfroe Harrell. Ronnie is a loving husband to Nadeen Harrell and a loving father to Richie Harrell and wife Lori of Branch, Darlene Johnson and husband Hal of Brandon, and Jimmy Herrington of Lena. He leaves behind his parents and sister Thelma Jewel Weaver of Leesburg.
Ronnie was known for his warm personality and kind heart. He had a passion for reading and could often be found immersed in a good book. In addition to his love for literature, Ronnie possessed impressive carpentry skills and enjoyed building things like swings and birdhouses. His talent as a carpenter was evident in every project he undertook.
Family meant the world to Ronnie, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He leaves behind cherished memories with his grandchildren Emily Snell, Casey Pickens, Cody Harrington, as well as several great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
A visitation will be held in Ronnie's honor on August 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Morton. On August 4th at 11:00 AM, a funeral service will take place at the same location. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Allen Chapel Cemetery in Ludlow from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM.
Ronnie's genuine kindness touched the lives of many friends who will remember him dearly. The legacy of love he leaves behind is immeasurable. His memory will live on through all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In this time of grief, let us remember Ronnie Lee Harrell as a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and cherished his family above all else. May we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with him and find strength in each other as we mourn his loss.
