Rosie Register

Rosie J. Register, age 77, a resident of Morton died Saturday December 10, 2011 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Monday December 12, 2011 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in Faulkner Cemetery. Rev. Joe Crane officiated the services.


She was born in rural Scott County on May 8, 1934 to Joseph T. Carpenter and Ola Ree Risher. After graduating high school, she completed License Practical Nursing Training through Hinds Junior College. She was a dedicated, compassionate and caring Nurse. Mrs. Register worked for the Mississippi Care Center for over 28 years before retiring in 2004. Her Christian faith was shared through her membership in New Zion Baptist Church.


Mrs. Register was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bernie Carpenter, a sister, Doris Pace and two children, Michael Tabb and Ola Ree Rigby.


She is survived by one daughter Patricia Bradford (Walter) of Morton, one brother Milton Carpenter of Morton, three sisters, Ina Faye Walker of Florence, Ellen Gray of Waynesboro, and JoAnne McNair of Bay Springs. Mrs. Register also leaves behind, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


Pallbearers were Malcolm Rigby, Edgar Bradford, Kyle Rigby, Colom Rose, James Vernon McNair, Dustin Foreman, Daniel Bailey and Jeff Pace.


Services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
