Rosie Lee Shoemaker, age 92 a resident of Yazoo City passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021. Visitation will be held 11am-12:30pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Graveside services will be held 1pm Friday at Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Shoemaker will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Rosie was born in Yazoo City on February 19, 1928. She loved being outdoors gardening, planting flowers and fishing. Rosie enjoyed having all her grandchildren around her and she loved her family very much.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Shoemaker; parents, Sweeney McCurdy and Annie Bell Davis McCurdy; son, Henry Bobby Shoemaker; daughter in law, Joann Birdsong Shoemaker; sisters, Claudine Rudolph, Mary Katherine Smith; brothers, Charles, James and John McCurdy.
She is survived by her children, Karen McCurdy (Henry) of Yazoo City, Carrie Mae Kyzar (Roger Dale) of Harperville, Daisy Reid (Jerry) of Lena, John Burt Shoemaker of Forest and Jesse Ray Shoemaker (Katy Hayes) of Pearl; brother, Henry McCurdy of Yazoo City and many grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tavarius Johnson, Chad Kyzar, Michael Holmes, Nicky Holmes, Curtis Holmes and Toby Holmes. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Holmes and Earnest Lamp.
