Roy Coward

Mr. Roy Glen Coward, age 56, a resident of Morton passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at his home.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Friday from 12-2pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, April 1, 2022 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with Bro. Bobby Reddin officiating.  Burial will follow in Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Coward was born in Morton on August 15, 1965.  He loved to hunt and fish and just enjoyed the simple things in life.  Roy was a lifelong resident of the Branch Community.  He was a carpenter by trade, cattleman by heart.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Neuite (Bub) Coward and daughter, Melissa Reid.

He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Coward of Morton; mother, Annie Lois Coward of Morton; siblings, Ruth Ann Ellingburg (Billy) of Morton, Bo Coward (Joanna) of Moss Point, Jim Coward (Sarah) of Forest, Mike Coward (Jenny) of Pelahatchie, Jerry Coward (Sally) of Morton and Bob Coward of Morton; 7 nieces, which he also called his sweet angels, Jennie Frith, Melissa Reid, Goldie Reid, Annie Coward, Jessica Hatch, Jayme Coley and Anna Clayton; 5 nephews, Joey Coward, Glenn Coward, Darwin (Buck) Coward, Cruz Maxwell and Jimmie McMorris; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Coward, Joey Coward, Thomas Coley, Jimmie McMorris, Henry Moreau and Glen McCoy.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Coward, Dalton Tagert, Bo Coward, Billy Ellingburg and Steve White.
