Roy Mitchell

Roy Lee Mitchell, age 71, a resident of Foley, AL but formerly of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell was born on January 29, 1950 in Yazoo City, MS to Roy G. Mitchell and Iva Lee LeMay Mitchell. He was married to Martha Clark Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell worked in sales for United Gas Pipeline. He enjoyed the game of golf and everything that surrounds it. He loved his Ole Miss family and being in the presents of other Ole Miss fans. Mr. Mitchell had a special place in his heart for his family and friends, he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Roy G. Mitchell and Iva Lee LeMay Mitchell and his sister, Mary Emma Smith.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Clark Mitchell; his children, Brandon Mitchell, Dustin (Katye) Mitchell and Clark Mitchell; sister, Henrietta (Mike) Wells; grandchildren, Mary Cailyn Mitchell, Ashlyn Mitchell, Cooper Mitchell, Layne Carithers and Dexter Mitchell; great granddaughter, Elaina Rose Robles; niece, Lynn Beard; nephew, Brent Smith; two great nieces Abby Carere and Courtney Carpenter; one great great niece Mila Carpenter; and many other family members and a host of friends.
