Royce Lorene "Rene" Babb, age 74, of Crossett, AR passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was born on October 12, 1935 to Golie Eugene and Edria Sue Leggett Tompkins in Utica, MS. Mrs. Babb was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Crossett, AR. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Babb enjoyed working with all types of arts and crafts and was a member of Barbara Edwards' aerobics class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Babb, her parents; brothers, J.D., William and Harmon Tompkins; sisters, Elizabeth and Bobbie Jean Lanier and Joyce Florene Holloway.
Survivors include sons, Johnny Babb (Jan) and Ricky Babb (Debbie) all of Crossett, AR; daughter, Rhonda Thompson (Chris) of Pelahatchie, brother Golie Tompkins, Jr. of Bossier City, LA and 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Josh and Kelsey Babb, Brandon and Jessi Thompson and a host of nieces and newphew.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmie Lewis and Bro. Jamie Staley officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4pm at Groverton Cemetery in the Branch Community of Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church MMC Building Fund, 701 Main St., Crossett, AR.
