Ruby Leach Baggett, age 72, a resident of Conehatta, passed away Sunday October 9, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Wednesday October 12, 2011 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home, with interment in the Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Larry Duncan officiated the services.
Ruby was born on February 25, 1939 in Newton County to Theo Leach and Katie Culpepper Leach
She was a 1958 graduate of Lake High School. After marrying, she traveled extinsively with her military husband. Upon his retirement, she returned to Newton County. She was employed with Chief Pierre/Sara Lee where she retired in 1991.
Mrs. Barrett was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was an amazing person, a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tim Baggett of Lawrence.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Terrell Baggett of Conehatta, daughter Vallie Baggett Parks and husband Randy of Lake, and a son Todd Baggett and his wife Donna of Conehatta, a sister Dorothy Roncali of Newton. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Jarett Baggett, Casey Bryant, Meagan Garrett, Sosha Parks and Damion Bailey.
Pallbearers were William Pace, Chris Parker, Heath Swinson, Chuck Parks, Anthony Roncali and James Parker.
Services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
