Mrs. Ruby Evelyn Bragg, age 90, a resident of Morton passed away on May 14, 2011 at Ms. Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held Monday, May 16, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Tuesday 8:30am to 1:30pm. Funeral services were held 2pm Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with burial in Clifton Baptist Cemetery. Bishop Dale Jordan conducted the services.
Mrs. Bragg was born in Huntsville, AL in 1920. She loved working word puzzles, reading and playing her guitar when she was younger. Ruby loved cooking for her family. She loved to sing and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ruby loved her family, grandkids and great grandkids and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Bragg; parents, Charles Winston Brooks and Pearlie Mae White Brooks; 2 sons, Ernest Dewey Bragg and Andrew “Buddy” Bragg Sr.; daughter, Ruby Yvona Liles Bourque; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Liles and Doris Ann Bragg; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her 4 children, Ollie Ann “Annette” Porter (Bobby C.) of Forest, Linda Faye Gamboa of Morton, Ernest W. Bragg (Mary Ann) of Magee and Charles Edward “Eddie” Bragg (Annette) of Pelahatchie; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Steven Bragg, Anthony Bragg, Randal Bragg, Ken Weaver, Jason Bragg, Mike Liles and Terry Liles. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Porter, Gary Sharp, Danny Bragg, Jimmy Stuart, Samuel Stuart, Conan Stuart, Cliff Stuart, Stephen Liles and Andy Bragg.
