Ruby was born on July 2, 1926 in Rankin County to Calvin and Irene Westbrook of Pelahatchie. Ruby married the love of her life, the late Elbert Pace of Pelahatchie. She retired from McKesson and Robbins Drug Company after 32 years of service. Prior to her disabling years, she was a very active and loyal member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Ruby’s hobbies were gardening, sewing, anything that involved hard work and always put others’ needs a head of hers. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Pace; parents, Calvin and Willie Irene Huff Westbrook; brother, J.C. Westbrook and sister, Mary Marie Harpe.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Hayman of Pelahatchie and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Harpe, Jim Huff, Donald Westbrook, John Bush, Michael Huff and Brandon Dearman.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses that cared for Ruby at her home; Kenny Thompson, Gail McDonald, Diane Allbritten and Tootie. We would also like to express appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mississippi Care Center of Morton, Hospice Advantage and a special thanks to her dear friend, Natalie Brady.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund.
