Russell Jackson

Mr. Russell Louie Jackson, age 69, a resident of Morton passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  His visitation was held 5pm-8pm Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Morton, Services were held  10am, Monday, December 27, 2021, Ott & Lee Chapel Morton with burial in  Independence United Methodist Cemetery.  Bro. Tal Vardaman and Bro. Randy Rigney officiated the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Jackson was born in Scott County on September 11, 1952.  He loved being outdoors.  He loved to hunt, fish, cut grass and work in his garden.  Russell loved to put up bird feeders and watch the beautiful sight of the birds coming to eat.  If he wasn't outside he loved watching Western movies and spoiling his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Henry Jackson and Essie Mae Phillips Jackson; siblings, Winford, Dale (Cindy), and Johnny Lamar Jackson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Jackson of Morton; children, Robyn Hernandez of Morton, John Jackson (Genia) of Morton and Clay Jackson of Morton; 2 grandchildren, Alexis and Hailey Jackson; sister, Omega Purvis (Jerry) of Morton; brother-in-law, Ray Carroll (Brenda) and Sisters-in-law, Wanda Johnson (Steve) and daughter, Breanna, Betty Bobbitt (John) and children, Pam, Josh, and Jasmine; nephews Ricky Purvis (Diane) and daughter, Ally and Jason Jackson (Holly) and daughter, Brooklyn; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Kenny Stephens, Shannon Callahan, Robert Hall, Brandon Hall, Josh Hall and Mark Perritt.
