Mr. Russell A. Myers Jr., age 81, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10:30am-1:00 pm at Ott & Lee in Morton with graveside service at 1:30 at Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery. Dr. William McKay will officiate the service. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Myers was born in 1930 in Pelahatchie, MS. He loved to refer to his self as, "The oldest living citizen in Pelahatchie." He loved to be outdoors hunting deer, squirrel and rabbit. One of his favorite past times was going to the races with his brother, Ray. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #276 in Pelahatchie. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Gloria Myers; parents, Russell A. Myers Sr. and Lillian Shedd Myers Moulder and sister, Melodi Myers.

He is survived by his children, Walter Rodney Myers (Sandra), Susan Martin (Frank), Jeffrey Myers (Kathy) and Lori Gasper(Rich); sisters, Patricia Rogers and Elizabeth Hodges; brother, Cecil Ray Myers (Pat); 11 grandchildren, David Knight, Holly Martin, Ethan Martin, Heather Myers, Devon Myers, Kacey Myers, Cody Myers, Julia Myers, Tyler Myers, Rachel Myers and Megan Gasper; 2 great grandchildren, Zoey & Hailey Meeks and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Alan Myers, Devon Myers, Kacey Myers, Cody Myers, Ethan Martin and Chris Meeks. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Edwards, Austin Denton, James Till and L.C. Rhodes.
