Russell Maurice Warren, age 88, better known as “PAW” by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren passed from this life into the heavenly kingdom on February 20th, 2022. He was a proud lifelong resident of Rankin County. He was born on May 2, 1933, as one of seven children to the late Irvin and Stella Warren in Brandon, Mississippi. He attended Puckett High School (or as he would say (“University of Puckett”) and graduated in 1951. On November 29, 1951, he began a very long career with Marquette Cement Company in Brandon, Mississippi and retired from there after 47 years of employment on April 30, 1998. He served his country during the Korean War from January 25, 1954, until January 24, 1956. On January 18, 1958, he married the love of his life, Dean Warren and they were happily married one month shy of 57 years upon her passing on December 27, 2014. He and his wife owned and operated Warren Egg Farm for 20 years. Russell was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, where he was an active member of Sunday school and numerous committees within the church for many years.
Russell’s wish was to live out his life in his home in the Shiloh Community and was able to do that thanks to many family members and loving caregivers. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He attended many “Camp Meetings” on the Shiloh Campgrounds. He loved traveling and his family would like to thank his deceased nephew Kenneth Warren and wife, Shirley for taking them on so many nice trips during their retirement years. He will be remembered by his family as a principal man of faith who had a love of family. He enjoyed seeing all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as much as he could. He will be greatly missed by his family, but their comfort is in the sure knowledge that he is at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with so many loving family members, especially his wife. We will miss you Paw. You’ve found peace and joined Mother, Mary, Randy, and Mike as well as many more family and friends in claiming the promise of our Lord, life everlasting, in his heavenly Home.
