Ruth C. Miller, 79, died Sept 4, 2012 at Brandon Rehab and Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Visitation is 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, Sept 6, 2012 with services at 10am. on Friday, Sept 7, 2012 in the chapel at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon., MS. Burial will follow the services at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Ruth C. Miller was born on February 9, 1933 and grew up in Bradford, TN. She moved to Pearl, Mississippi in 1957 where she was a charter member at Grandview Baptist Church. She worked with the kindergarten at the church for thirty years as a kindergarten teacher and was affectionately known as Mrs. Ruth and Memaw. She spent the last eleven years of her work career at Mississippi Rehabilitation Services in Madison, Mississippi. Ruth was the church organist for many years at Grandview Baptist Church and for almost thirty years at Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry B. Miller of Brandon, MS, her parents and five siblings.
Survivors include son Michael Miller of Livermore, CA, son Garry Miller (Barbara) of Flowood, MS., daughter Terrie Sartin (Larry) of Madison, MS, son Steve Miller (Melissa) Pearl, MS, son Kevin Miller (Denise) of Memphis, TN, sister Lola Akin of Bradford, TN, eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the building fund at Liberty Baptist Church.
