Ruth was born in Lauderdale County, MS on November 19, 1947, to the late Elvin Lieutenant Wheeler, Sr. and Eunice Lunsford Wheeler.
Ruth loved spending time with all her family, she especially cherished the holidays when the entire family was together. She loved to cook desserts for her family and was known as the “Dessert Queen”. She loved to sit and watch hummingbirds and she enjoyed the beauty of flowers. When she was younger, she spent her time taking her grandchildren to their various activities. Ruth learned not to worry or stress about her daily life, but give it to God, and she would tell her family to do the same thing. Ruth’s favorite phrase to Teri was “I’m the Boss”. Ruth left a void that can never be filled. Her legacy will continue to live on for generations to come through her family and friends.
Ruth’s husband of 40 years, the love of her life, Elry Earl Noland, Jr. preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Mable Higginbotham, Velma Moncrief, Eleanor Vanhoy, Leo Wheeler, Elvin Wheeler, and Berta Hatchcock.
Ruth is survived by her children, Brian (Andrea) Noland, Dustin Noland, and Teri (Mitch) McGarrh all of Brandon, MS; sister Dorothy (Bill) Craven of Ramseur, NC; sister-in-laws Lois (Mack) Willis, Frances (Marvin) Wells, and Gail Thortis all of Brandon; grandchildren, Bailey Noland, Katie Noland, Payton Camby, Zackery Camby, Jax Noland, Danni Cantwell, William (Kelsey) Hyche, and Alex McGarrh; great-grandchildren Sadie Jo Cardin and Sawyer Cardin; niece Kimberly Willis; nephews Kevin Willis, Robby Hall, Shannon Thortis, Shaun Thortis, Darin Hall, and Wayne Wells; a host of other relatives and friends.
