Mrs. Ruth Eady Kelly, age 99, a resident of Manhattan Nursing Home of Jackson died Sunday January 8, 2012. She had been a lifelong resident of Smith County until 2009.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with interment in the Gasque Chapel United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10am until the service time. Rev. Curtis Roland, Rev. B.B. Watson and Rev Tommy Anderson officiated the services.
Mrs. Kelly was born on March 19, 1912 in Smith County to her parents Van Smith and Mattie McNeil Smith. She was member of the Gasque Chapel United Methodist Church and was active in the community where she was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband James Benjamin Eady, and her late husband Robert Kelly, and a son Lonnie Sam Eady, four sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by her five children; J.B. Eady, Jr. and wife Peggy of Pearl, Mattie Bassett of Pulaski, Van Taylor Eady and wife Urline of Brookhaven, Liston Eady of Brandon, and Zenobia Hallman and her husband Ronnie of Raleigh. She leaves a leagacy of 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bassett, Kirk Grantham, Dewayne Eady, Ray Gomillion, Michael Eady and Steve Martin.
