Ryan James Goss passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born July 20, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas.
Ryan was a “one of a kind” guy. Meeting him was a true gift and was like picking up where you left off with a close friend. His personality, charm, and wit made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He wanted everyone to feel welcomed and made it his mission to make sure of it. Ryan loved a good adventure and would happily go along with any crazy idea. He was a talented chef, filmmaker, actor, musician, natural comedian, and a true gypsy at heart.
To know Ryan was to know true, unconditional love. He saw the good in everyone and clung to it. He loved his family and friends fiercely, but he loved those around him in his community just as well. He was loved by many and it’s evident. Ryan never missed a beat in life and living it to the fullest was what he did best.
Ryan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Kasavage; his paternal grandparents, Walter Wayne and Kathryn Goss; and his uncle, Walter Goss.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Goss; father, William L. Goss; brother, Nathan Goss, his wife, Carlie, and their children, Elliott and Evelyn; sister, Sarah McDonald, her husband Javien, and their children, Jayden and Gracelyn; aunts and uncles, Cindy McGuire (Marc), Michelle Smith (Tony), Annelle McGee (Billy), and Retta Goss; cousins, Jessica Smith (Aubrie), Alex McGee, Diane Adams, and Noel Goss; and his chosen family, Matt St. John, Chandler Ferriss, John Soutullo, Josh Hilton, Lance Philyaw, Allen Turner, Hal Michael Lott, and Elijah Williams.
Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and again on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with a celebration of life service to follow in the chapel at 3:00 pm.
