Sam Joseph Iupe, 57, passed away on Friday, December 09, 2016 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 11am – 1:45pm Monday, December 12, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services are 2pm Monday in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Jackson, MS.
Mr. Iupe was born in Jackson, MS on May 25, 1959 and he graduated St. Joe High School in 1977 where he played football and baseball. Sam attended Ole Miss and graduated Belhaven University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was the General Manager of Gulf States Toyota from 1991–2003 and he received salesman of the year every year at Regency Toyota. He was a black belt in karate at Gober’s Karate and Fitness.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Iupe; mother, Marlene Iupe; children, Nikki Evans, Justin Evans (Jackie) and Scott Evans (Mary Elizabeth); grandchildren, Brooklynn Ramshur, London Ramshur, Jordan Evans, Jorja Evans, Jaxon Evans and Mary Clyde Evans; sisters, Diane Iupe Shannon (Larry), Sharon Iupe Moseley (Jason) and Ida Iupe Miller (Marc); brothers, Charlie Iupe, Jr., Mike Iupe and Thomas Iupe, Sr. (Bridgette); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Iupe, Sr. and a brother, John Charles Iupe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
