Sam passed peacefully at Home in Pelahatchie, MS surrounded by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. .
Sam was born May 31, 1944, in Rankin County, MS to Luther and Grace Huff Means. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He devoted his life to his community as a mechanic and welder. He enjoyed visiting with his children, grandchildren, friends, and many others when he had the downtime. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Grace Huff Means and his sister, Betty Dyess.
Sam is survived by his life partner, Betty Means; daughter, Melissa (David) Pate; sons, Sam (Angela) Means, Jr. and Tim (Tabatha) Means, and daughter, Samatha Wolf; grandsons: Dustin, Cody, Ripley, Zachary, Wyatt and Hunter (Megan) Wolf; granddaughter: Jocelyn; 2 great grandchildren, Huntley and Sam Wolf; brothers, Jackie (Beverly) Means, Rufus (Linda) Means, and Johnny (Suzanne) Means; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
