Samuel “Sam” Mohr Stuart, II, age 48, a resident of Forest, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 , in Forest.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday, January 22, 2016, from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, with interment to follow in the Dennis Cemetery near Lake. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the funeral home. Rev. Ken McLemore will officiate.

Mr. Stuart was born on April 1, 1967, in Rankin County to his parents Hamilton M. Stuart and Blanche (Jeanetta) Nichols Stuart. The past 20 years he was a self-employed Landscaper. Sam loved the outdoors and enjoyed the splendor of God’s handiwork in nature. Several years ago he had accepted Christ in the Baptist church. He was an avid hunter, he enjoyed sports and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Sam was also known for his “wit” and “humor” and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents: Samuel Mohr Stuart and Ruby Spell Stuart; maternal grandparents Timon Rhodell Nichols and Myrtle Ponder Nichols.

Survivors include his wife, Lesa Dennis Stuart of Forest; four children: Ashley Rodoski and husband, Cameron of Brandon, Donie Jeanetta “DJ” Lewis and husband ,David of Mobile, AL; Matthew Stuart of Forest; Samantha Stuart of Brookhaven; and step-children: Kristen Chamblee of Brandon and Tanner Chamblee of Forest. He is also survived by one sister: Angela Goodman and husband, Ray of Brandon. He leaves a legacy of three grandchildren: Matthew Charles “Charlie” Lewis, Katelyn Ingram and Hayden Wagner. Others include several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

Pallbearers are: Lane Smith, David Lewis, Sammy Monistere, Brian Hodges, Winston Parish and Ray Goodman. Honorary pallbearers are: Matthew Stuart and Rodney Hodges.
