Sandra Mcclain

Sandra Taylor McClain, 74, was born in Columbus, MS on October 23, 1948.  She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 22, 2023.  Sandra was the daughter of Lethal Preston Taylor of Stonewall, MS and Bonnie Bell Thompson of Crawford, MS.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, James O. McClain of Brandon, MS; daughters, Lisa Baker of Brandon, MS, Gina McClain (Brandon Massengill) of Atlanta, GA, Mindy Gordin (Kirk) of Puckett, MS, Kasi Weghorst (Anthony) of Puckett, MS, and Laci Clack (Richard) of Brandon, MS; grandsons, Christopher Hancock (Kara) of Crestview, FL and Justin McClain Gordin of Puckett, MS; granddaughters, Grace and Claire Gordin of Puckett, MS; great grandchildren, Piper and Noah Clack of Brandon, MS, Kaygan and Decklan Weghorst of Puckett, MS and Eli and Lainey Hancock of Crestview, FL.  She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and her loving companion Short Leggs.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father and mother; her first husband, Frank Baker and her brothers, David Wayne Taylor and Preston Talton Taylor.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful friends and family who surrounded us with their love and prayers.  It is with great gratitude we want to acknowledge the caregivers and friends who were gracious with their care for our precious Sandra.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  A celebration of life service will be 10:00 am Friday, January 27, 2023, at North Brandon Church of Christ, 1029 Highway 471, Brandon, MS.  Burial will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Puckett, MS.  Brother Greg Ledbetter and Brother Mickey Ferguson will officiate services.  Pallbearers will be Christopher Hancock, Justin Gordin, Kirk Gordin, Richard Clack, Anthony Weghorst and Brandon Massengill.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Calhoun, Zach Stover, and Mason Talley.
