Mrs. Sandra Sessums, age 60, a resident of Hattiesburg passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. Visitation was held 9am-9:45am Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. A short funeral service was held under our Portico out back of the funeral home officiated by Bro. T.J. Tennison and Bro. Dewane Breazeale. Burial followed in Cooperville Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Sessums was born in Greenwood, MS on September 22, 1959. She worked for the Vicksburg Warren School District as a teacher for many years and retired and decided to become a housewife. Sandra loved to travel and Disney was one of her favorite places to go. She loved decorating for Christmas. Sandra had a big heart and doing for others is what she enjoyed the most. She called her husband, Steve and her boys, Brett and Blake her Hero’s and the loved she had for them will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Martin and Virginia Misskelly Martin; brothers, Cecil Martin and Tony Corley.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Steve Sessums of Hattiesburg; her two sons that she called her hero’s, Brett Sessums of Hattiesburg and Blake Sessums of Biloxi; 2 brothers, Edward Corley of Yazoo City and Larry Corley of West, MS; sisters-in law, Donna Martin of Benton, Vivian Sessums of Brandon and Chelly LeGrad (Ed) of Pelahatchie and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg or Crossway Church in Vicksburg or Venture Church in Hattiesburg.
