Sandra Spencer Spengler, 60, of Brandon, passed away at home surrounded by her family on June 13, 2018, after a five month battle with cancer.
Sandra was born on June 27, 1957, in Baldwyn, MS to Billy and Dina Jo Spencer and was a graduate of Tupelo High School and the University of Mississippi. She was employed by Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company for thirty one years, where she was Director of Corporate Communication and Training. She enjoyed participating in the mentoring and development of employees to help them in attaining their career goals. She also provided consulting services to companies in the area of staff development.
Sandra fought her battle with cancer with unwavering faith, humor, and an ever present smile. The outpouring of support from numerous friends (known and unknown) was overwhelming to the family.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Billy Spencer and is survived by her mother, Dina Jo Spencer; her husband, Steve of 34 years; children, Sarah Compton (Will) and Sam Spengler (Reagan); grandchildren, John Owen Compton, Addie Compton and Grayson Spengler; brother, Terry Spencer (Tina); aunt Kay Stacy (Edward); nephews, Grant Spencer, Peyton Spencer and William Wilson; niece, Emily Battle (Joshua); mother-in-law, Eula Spengler; and sister-in-law Donna Wilson(Felon).
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Friday, June 15, 2018, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home and 10-11am Saturday, June 16, 2018, prior to the service at 11am at First Baptist Church of Fannin. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or the building fund at FBC of Fannin.
