Sarah Jane Bounds

Sarah Jane Gaines Bounds, 92, of Pearl, Mississippi, was called home by her Lord and Savior on May 29, 2024. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 with ceremony to follow at 1pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon. Burial will be at Newton Masonic Cemetery immediately following the service.

Sarah was born on March 18, 1932, to Carl and Ida Gaines in Decatur, Mississippi. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Allen Quinn Bounds, and they made their home in Pearl, Mississippi. Sarah worked for Trustmark National Bank and retired in 1993. She was a longtime and devoted member of Paul Truitt Baptist Church in Pearl.

Her greatest joys in life were her two boys, Allen and Steve. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Quinn Bounds, and her son, Allen Bounds, who passed in 1994.

She is survived by her son, Steve Bounds, and her sister, Annie Ledlow. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Scott (Denise) Bounds, Kelly Nielsen, Stephanie (Mike) Holl, Michael Bounds, and Sarah (Jed) Savoie; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Sarah will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
